In the skilled hands of Florentine master craftsmen, glass transforms into an almost otherworldly, translucent medium. Its sculptural silhouette breaks conventional expectations for glass art, presenting an immense technical hurdle once deemed unachievable even by elite Murano glass ateliers. Through persistent devotion and countless rounds of trial and refinement, master artisans mastered molten glass to realise this intricate carved sculptural form. Production begins with three craftsmen jointly loading 40 kilograms of silica raw material into the high-temperature kiln. The final silhouette takes shape via hot glass blowing and manual sculpting, requiring multiple artisans to manage the piece’s substantial size and mass. Traditional historic methods guide every stage: glass is heated, rotated, shaped and blown using slender iron blowpipes. After three full production trials and a full week of repeated heating, rotating and forming cycles, the exclusive finished artwork is completed once fully cooled. The technical demands of this creation forced Florentine craftsmen to adjust the originally planned dimensions to turn this avant-garde concept into a tangible artwork. To finish, hand-blown glass floral motifs are integrated in honour of classic Murano heritage, with fire manipulation and generations of artisanal expertise adorning the translucent glass body with intricate botanical detailing.
